Percy likes to go shopping. This weekend he decided to look at new computers. He doesn’t know too much about computers but he thought this one was pretty. He has a friend named Mac and he thinks it is funny that the computer’s name is Mac too! It also happened to be the Mac computer’s 30th birthday. Percy was glad to be at the store for the special day. He had his picture taken with the Mac computer to show Mac, his friend. He is sure his friend will think that is a funny joke.
When Percy was looking at the computers something bright caught his eye. “Ooh, look at the pretty colors!” he squealed. They reminded him of party balloons for the celebration. Can you name the different colors? Do you see Percy in the picture? Which color is he standing on?
Happy 30th Birthday Mac!
When is your next birthday? How old will you be?
The Pobbles love to read books. It is very cold right now at Pobble Path. That means they want to read books about cold snowy days.
The Pobbles like to read to each other. It helps them learn new words, and is a fun way to spend time together. Percy Pobble will often sit in a big comfy chair and read books out loud to his friends. When he was little, his favorite time of the day was when he would sit on his mother’s or father’s lap in the same big comfy chair and listen to them read his favorite stories.
His parents had a silly poem about reading and Percy still remembers the words.
Wiggly Giggly Story Time
It’s time to snuggle up and rest awhile,
To have silly dreams with a drowsy smile.
Sit on my lap and we’ll read some books,
The ones that cause you goofy looks.
Sleep takes longer when you are wiggling,
But I always have time to hear you giggling!
Percy loves that poem. It always reminds him of his parents. Having favorite stories and poems are memories you can take with you forever!

Percy Pobble loves to sing! Sometimes he sings alone and sometimes he sings with other Pobbles. Today he walked down the Pobble Path and sang some of his favorite songs. Percy knows the words to a lot of different songs, but sometimes he forgets the words. When that happens he just hums until he remembers them, or sometimes he makes up new words.
The Pobbles like to play a game where they have to make up new words to a favorite song. Percy loves this game. His made up songs almost never make any sense and they are usually so silly that by the end of the song the other Pobbles are rolling around laughing.
Here is a picture you can color of Percy singing his way down the Pobble Path! Ask a grown up to print it for you.
Parents, do you sing with your kids? If not, take a look at this article from Rice University. It may turn you into a warbler. Rice University Singing with Children Article.
One of Percy’s friend’s is sick, and Percy is worried about him. He decided to visit him, but he was a little nervous to go to the hospital. He had never visited a hospital before. When he went in the front door there was a very nice lady sitting at a desk. She said, “Hello there! Can I help you?”
Percy smiled and was very happy she was there to help. He told her his friend’s name and the nice lady helped him find the room. As they were walking Percy saw a big colorful sculpture. “Ooh… That is so pretty.” The nice lady said, “I am glad you like it. We have it here to brighten up the hospital and help people feel better.” Percy was so excited. He told her that he had brought flowers to his friend because he thought some bright cheery flowers might help him feel better. She told him that she was sure the flowers would brighten his friend’s day.
Percy continued looking at the sculpture as they walked. The nice lady asked him if he would like her to take his picture in front of the sculpture. “Yes, please!” said Percy. The nice lady giggled because Percy was so happy to have his picture taken. Here is Percy’s picture at the big colorful sculpture.
Can you help Percy make his flowers bright and cheery? Ask an adult to print this sheet and see if you can match the colors to the flowers.
Percy Pobble was walking down the Pobble Path today and it was very cold! Percy watched the weather and learned that it is cold today in many places. He likes the cold because it is fun to play in the snow, go sledding, or skate with his Pobble friends. When Percy goes outside he makes sure to wear a nice warm hat, a heavy coat, and mittens.
Some of the other Pobbles like to wear gloves, but Percy loves mittens. Percy always says, “Gloves are nice when the blustery winter winds blow, but wearing mittens is like having puppets wherever you go!” Percy is silly.
What do you wear when you go out in the cold?
Percy likes mittens so much that he made a mitten matching sheet for you. Ask an adult to click on the picture to print it and then you can help Percy match the mittens.
Stay warm and happy winter!
A few of the Pobbles were walking down the Pobble Path today and they saw a little boy feeding birds with his Aunt. Pobbles are always watching out for people doing good things. They love to tell stories and the best stories always have a happy ending just like this one. They could not wait to get back and share this story with their friends. It is very cold today and the birds will be so happy to have some food to help keep them warm.
Do you feed birds? You can with help from an adult just like the little boy the Pobbles saw today. Birds like seeds, peanuts, cracked corn, and suet. Suet is fat and gives some birds a lot of energy in the cold winter.
You and your parents can visit the Humane Society by clicking here to get more information on the best way to feed birds.
One of the Pobbles was so happy to see the little boy taking care of his bird friends that he went home and painted this picture, and he made sure to put himself in the picture. Do you see the Pobble?
You can color your own picture of Percy Pobble feeding his bird friends. Can you count how many birds Percy Pobble is feeding? Click on the image below to print your coloring sheet!
